About

Basque’s approach to food centres on the recreation of authentic Spanish dishes using local, seasonal produce.

Under the guidance of our Spanish chefs Basque has established a reputation for serving wonderfully delicious meals that satisfy the most discerning customer.

Our extensive menu includes the popular tapas dishes served in the Basque region of north-west Spain, an area whose cuisine has been influenced by its proximity to the sea, access to an abundance of fresh and cured meats, and a broad range of vegetables and herbs. Highlights of the menu include such dishes as crispy salt and pepper squid, pan seared calamari, oven roasted artichoke hearts, green lipped mussels, marinated pork ribs, pimento sausage, slow cooked quail and baked chicken in a clay pot.

Basque offers a degustation menu of our most popular dishes, showcasing the classic Spanish cuisine at its best.

On Saturday the feature of dining at Basque is designed around sharing with a group or a friend, the best dish for this is the paella which takes additional time to cook, ensuring that each pan is served fresh to the table.

On Friday and Saturday nights our rumba band, Solo Porque, bring the sounds of Spain alive, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere to match the food.

Basque was established by well known food and wine entrepreneur, Robyn McLeod, in 2003. Robyn’s background in food, nutrition, hospitality and wine perfectly complements the outstanding cuisine on offer at Basque.

Basque is about  passion for Spanish cuisine, an emphasis on fresh, seasonal and local produce, and a commitment to giving customers a unique and diverse dining

experience.

With a philosophy of sourcing fresh ingredients from small local suppliers, and the expertise and mastery in the kitchen have recreated the flavours and tastes of an

authentic Spanish restaurant.

“The greatest pleasure is watching the reactions of customers to the food we prepare,”
